How To Improve Your Credit Score And Gain Trust From Banks
62Before You Begin
No matter where you're starting out, you can improve your credit score and gain (or regain) the trust of banks. I myself used to have a terrible credit score and this led to a lot of embarrassment and difficulty. I was able to resolve my credit issues and now have a spectacular credit score. I can get any reasonable loan because I am now considered to be trustworthy to banks. This hub will give you the steps you need to get your credit going in the right direction.
Step 1 - Stop Going Downhill
Many people simply aren't aware of the things that determine their credit score and therefore don't know where they're hurting themselves.
Many of the bills that you pay are watched by the credit bureaus. This is especially true for your credit card bills. If you make late payments on your credit cards, it's simply killing your credit. This needs to be remedied ASAP.
Additionally, credit bureaus look heavily at how much of your available credit is being used. No matter what your limit, using more than half of your available credit will hurt your credit score. On top of that, the closer you get to reaching the limit on your credit cards, the more it will hurt your credit.
Stop the bleeding right now! If you have made late payments in the past, that's ok. Simply stop now. Do everything in your power to never make a late payment again, for as long as you live. Make sure that you don't use more than half of your available credit and if you are already in trouble, rectify the situation.
Step 2 - Start Going Uphill
After you have stopped the bleeding, it will be time to start climbing. This means that you will need to start knocking down your credit cards to zero. On top of that, you will need to continue to make on-time payments. Never make a late payment even if it means making only the minimum payment. It doesn't hurt you to make the minimum payment!
Once you're moving in the right direction, it will help to take out a few additional lines of credit. I would recommend having at least two credit cards (that are paid off each month) and also having a loan on a vehicle or home. Credit bureaus look at the types of credit lines you have and like to see a variety in them.
Interestingly, many people out there are constantly looking for bank loans for people with bad credit. If you take control of your credit, there will never be a need. These loans are extremely expensive and in the end, they simply damage your financial health.
Step 3 - Execute Proper Timing
When the time comes for you to get a loan, you will need to make sure to execute proper timing. During this time period, you should try to carry a zero balance on your credit cards. Even if you pay them off each month, the balance may be reported before payment is made. Don't use your cards for a month or two before you try to take out a loan.
